Organization

The strong growth and financial successes of both Optimum Re Insurance Company and its sister company in Canada, Optimum Reassurance Inc , led to the creation of a new reinsurance holding company: Optimum Re Inc., with a capital and surplus of over $120 million on US GAAP basis and a total assets of over $1.1 billion (2006 figures).

Optimum Re is ultimately owned by the Optimum Group Inc., a privately owned Canadian financial group that has around 500 employees world-wide that manage more than $2.5 billion in assets. The group operates in life reinsurance in Canada, in the US and Caribbean islands; in life insurance in the US and Europe, in property and casualty insurance in Canada; in real estate in Canada, the US and Europe as well as in consulting services in North America and in Europe.

ORIC is domiciled in Dallas (Texas) and licensed/authorized in 48 states in the US for reinsurance purposes.
