History

As an actuarial consulting service firm operating under the name of Blondeau & Company when it started off in 1969, Optimum Group has developed progressively by expanding its activities to other sectors, such as property and casualty insurance, life reinsurance, life insurance and financial services.

During the first years, the data processing needs of Group's member corporations were met by Blondeau & Company that has then become a subsidiary. As the years went by, however, the increasing needs of the other affiliates led to the creation of an entity fully committed to providing data processing services. Therefore on January 1, 1983, the data processing department of Blondeau & Company generated a new affiliate: Synergie Informatique Inc. Originally staffed with about ten employees, its team now exceeds over sixty members.

Faced with the expansion of the existing affiliates and Optimum Group's acquisition of new companies, Synergie Informatique has kept growing steadily since its inception. Along this course, it has managed to develop an expertise that is pertinent to the operations of Group's affiliates, and by the same token, afforded itself an undisputed advantage over other computer consulting firms.

In the year 2000, seeking to maximise the scope of the OPTIMUM trademark, Optimum Group implemented a programme that aimed to change the corporate names of all its affiliates. As a result, Synergie Informatique became Optimum Informatique.

Over time, the proliferation of interconnected networks and the increasing use of information technologies by the affiliates have compelled Optimum Informatique to review its role. A new business mission was therefore elaborated to take this new reality into account.
